Thank you for your interest in exploring our current funding opportunities. We deeply value the important work that nonprofit organizations do across the communities we serve, and we wish we could support every worthy initiative. However, our funding capacity is limited, and we maintain specific focus areas to maximize our impact. Our grantmaking is focused on furthering our vision to advance equity through whole-person health across Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah. Details can be found under each of the areas of funding listed below.

We do not operate regular grant cycles. Instead, we invite applications based on specific strategic objectives or we occasionally announce opportunities to apply for funding through a Request for Proposals (RFP) that is open to the public.

We encourage those who are interested in seeking grant support to review information on our website, explore our funding priorities and gain an understanding of our current initiatives before reaching out for additional information. Scholarship for the Health Care Workforce

Now open! The scholarship application for the 2026-2027 school year is open as of November 1, 2025. Oregon Community Foundation partners with the Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC) to administer its scholarship funds. OSAC’s common application allows students to access numerous scholarships including The Cambia Health Foundation / Paula A. Jones Endowed Scholarship. Interested students should start their application through the OSAC portal. Then select “Cambia Health Foundation/Paula A. Jones Scholarship” when prompted to choose which scholarships to apply for after completing their personal information section.

This scholarship is available to students in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah who are from communities traditionally unrepresented in professional health care roles including students from rural areas as well as students who are Black, Indigenous and people of color.

Health Care Workforce

In 2026, we plan to release one Health Care Workforce Request for Proposals (RFP). Remaining funds outside of the RFP will be awarded through an invitation-only application process. Information on timing will be updated here in March 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I submit an application for grant funding?

Each funding opportunity will have its own application process and timeframe. This information is often communicated in a request for proposal (RFP) document and/or a Call for Applications . All applications are submitted through an online application system. Instructions for submitting applications will be provided for each funding opportunity.

What type of organizations are eligible to apply?

Cambia Health Foundation currently accepts applications from organizations in the United States that have received their 501(c)(3) nonprofit and tax-exempt status or 509(a) 1, 2, or 3 (types I, II, or a functionally integrated type III) designation under the Internal Revenue Service Code (IRC); Accredited schools or universities; Units of government and public agencies; Federally recognized Indian Tribal entities.

What is the Foundation's commitment to nondiscrimination, diversity and inclusion?

Cambia Health Foundation partners with organizations that value diversity and work to create an inclusive culture. As a condition of receiving funds, we will ask all organizations to certify they do not discriminate in any aspect of business operations on the basis of age, gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, national origin, political affiliation, religious belief, and any other status protected by law. We regard a certification of nondiscrimination as one aspect of an organization’s commitment to diversity and creating a culture of inclusion. Beyond adherence to nondiscrimination policies, each organization is on their own journey of learning how best to realize these goals. Cambia Health Foundation is also committed to these practices for our organization. We value learning alongside our grantees and community partners as we consider and make our investments.

Does Cambia Health Foundation have a policy regarding the amount of indirect costs that can be charged to a grant?

Yes. Cambia Health Foundation has a policy that caps institutionally charged indirect costs for a grant at 10 percent per grant.

Our organization has several distinct programs doing work that aligns with an RFP, and we would like to apply for funding for each program. Should we submit separate applications for each program?

We ask that each organization submit only one application under an RFP. The application may cover one or more initiatives or programs.

Can an organization with an active or recently completed grant with Cambia Health Foundation apply under a new funding opportunity?

Yes. If you have an active grant, please reach out to your staff contact for that grant for additional information.

Is funding focused on a specific geographic region?

Yes. Our funding is generally specific to work creating impact in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and/or Washington or Indian Lands of Federally Recognized Tribes within these state boundaries. Any specific geographic eligibility information will be provided in each funding opportunity.

Does applying for this funding preclude us from applying for any other funding opportunities that may be announced this year?

No.

Does Cambia Health Foundation provide capital funding?

In general, we do not provide funding for large capital campaigns. However, we may, at our discretion, invite applications for support of capital projects that align with our strategic investment focus areas or other Foundation priorities.
