In recognition of her steadfast commitment to advancing equity, improving outcomes and supporting whole-person health at every stage of life, Paula A. Jones was recognized with a new scholarship fund in her name from the Cambia Health Foundation. Jones served with distinction on the board of directors for Cambia Health Solutions for 12 years and was instrumental to the formation and strategic direction of the Cambia Health Foundation. She retired from her board role in June of 2022.

To honor and thank Jones, Cambia Health Foundation announced that it has established the Cambia Health Foundation/Paula A. Jones Endowed Scholarship Fund of Oregon Community Foundation with an initial investment of $50,000. On an annual basis, Oregon Community Foundation will distribute a portion of the fund for the award of one scholarship per year to a high school graduate in Oregon, Washington, Idaho or Utah to use in pursuit of post-secondary education at public or private non-profit colleges or universities in the United States. Ideal candidates will demonstrate leadership skills, academic excellence, a commitment to community service and an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare.

Jones Endowed Scholarship Fund of Oregon Community Foundation is to increase representation of people from different backgrounds in the health care workforce by supporting outstanding students from communities traditionally underrepresented in professional health care roles,” said Peggy Maguire, president of the Cambia Health Foundation. “I cannot think of a better way to honor Paula, who has been an outstanding advisor, mentor and supporter of the Foundation’s mission to advance equity through whole-person health.”

Applications will open in the Spring of 2023 for the following Fall term. A selection committee at Oregon Community Foundation, including Jones and Maguire, will review applications.

About Paula A. Jones
Paula A. Jones, of Chicago, Illinois, is the chief executive officer of Cajual Entertainment, Inc., a record label and publishing company. Additionally, she is a consultant specializing in strategic planning related to social strategy and policy for corporations and non-profits. She was previously a corporate officer and senior vice president for global diversity and inclusion for PepsiCo. In 2007, Paula was appointed to the Cambia Health Solutions board of directors and served as the long-standing chair of the Health Strategies Committee. She completed undergraduate studies at Loyola University, earned her graduate degree at the University of Illinois and completed the advanced management program at Harvard University.
