Horticulture therapy investment expands access to nature-based healing in Idaho

Cambia Health Foundation provides $100,000 grant to Idaho Botanical Gardens

The Idaho Botanical Garden announced today that it received a $100,000 grant from Cambia Health Foundation to further expand its horticulture therapy program. Grounded in evidence-based practice and guided by trained professionals, the program supports therapeutic outcomes including improved mental health, physical strength and coordination, cognitive engagement, emotional regulation and social connectivity. The program is designed to be inclusive, adaptable and welcoming to serve people of all ages, abilities and life experiences.

"We're thrilled to support programming that demonstrates the powerful connection between nature and mental wellness," said Peggy Maguire, president of Cambia Health Foundation. "Through our partnership with Idaho Botanical Garden, nature-based healing is reaching people of all ages across the Treasure Valley. We're proud to support this initiative to strengthen individual and community health by bringing people together in a healing space."

With the Foundation’s support, the program will grow into a robust community resource serving health care providers, caregivers, individuals experiencing mental health challenges, expecting and postpartum mothers, veterans and community organizations throughout the region.
